Vanitha landed into a controversy when she filed a case against her parents and brother for assaulting her when she tried to take back her children to her home.

When she did not return her daughter after the court's deadline, the court gave Jaynitha's full custody to her father. But, in the first week of April 2017, Vanitha did not return her daughter to her ex-husband for the entire week. When Vanitha got divorced from her second husband, the court decided that their daughter, Jaynitha, would stay with her father on the weekdays and with her mother on the weekend.
